ABOUT US

WHY HAMMERHEAD?

Hammerhead Gym is locally owned and operated.  We have over 30 years of experience in health and wellness to bring to the area and are so excited to share our love of this industry! Our vision is to make exercise easily accessible to residents and vacationers alike, and help you reach your health and fitness goals.  We understand that it can be hard to prioritize fitness with a busy schedule, which is why our facility is available to members 24/7!

Meet The Owner...

Hammerhead Gym is owned and operated by Sarah McCormick alongside her husband, Armand, and friends Bob and Shannon Closson. Sarah and her husband are veteran gym owners and Hammerhead is their 13th facility. Their first gym, CrossFit Kilo, has grown from their basement to a 12,000 square foot facility in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Their love for the sunshine brought them and their 2 sons to the area permanently in 2022. Since graduating from the University of Northern Iowa in 2008, Sarah has spent her years coaching, personal training, and providing nutrition guidance to her clients.

Our Story?

The first time we stepped foot into Hammerhead Beach Gym on Fort Myers Beach, we fell in love. The location, the vibe…it was all so cool! We hoped that one day we could call it ours, so when the opportunity arose, we were all in. Starting June 1, 2021, we worked to keep the old school feel that we loved so much, yet give Hammerhead a fresh start. On September 28, 2022, it came to an abrupt halt. Hurricane Ian left us heartbroken and in shock. Our hearts are with all of our members and fellow business owners who have also lost so much. Hammerhead will continue to grow and hopefully have a presence on Fort Myers Beach again one day!
